If you are planning to travel by car or coach, it is advisable to use this city map although Itinere is easy to reach from whichever direction you're coming from. It covers the whole of the old town and shows enough detail to be useful for most walkers & drivers. We've marked the suggested route to get Itinere's meeting point easily.

To get to Tarragona from Barcelona take the A7 Motorway as far as the N340 (EXIT 32: Altafulla-Torredembarra) which leads you right through one of the main city entrances: Via Augusta, Rambla Vella and finally Via de l'Imperi.

Travelling either from Lleida (N420), Salou or Reus (A7) through EXIT 33 you'll enter the city via Pza. Imperial Tarraco which takes you directly to the town centre as far as Font del Centenari. Turn around on the left and place your car at the traffic lights on the right-hand side. Go on straight away up to the next traffic lights and turn again on the left along Via de l'Imperi, known for its cypresses.

Tarragona train station is at the seafront, a short walk to the centre of the town. Climbing steeply up from the train station you'll reach the Mediterranean balcony at one end of Rambla Nova.
